define waste and greed.

Waste is like an unnecessary burden placed on the Earth's shoulders. It is a form of denile by society and an avoidance of what is really going on around us. Waste is like ordering $500 worth of food and then just throwing it out. Greed is like knowing your best friend is going to get fired from his job and not giving him a head's up because you are going to be benefiting from his getting fired. It is selfish, unjust, and unfair. Greed is winning $2 million and keeping all of it even though you are aware that there is that many people in need of help.

WASTE, AVOIDANCE, SELFISHNESS, UNNECESSARY, HURTFUL, GREED, OBSESSED, BLIND EYE.

We don't care who our greed and waste is affecting, as long as it's not affecting us.

  1. I agree that there is a denial that we consume more than we require. However, the way we have created our society it is difficult to consuming in excess. The government needs to make more incentives for companies to dispose of waste more responsibly and recycle.

  3. I agree with you about how the government must step in and give companies a reason to want to not produce waste.

  4. I definitely agree with Matt in that the government is the most important player in the greed game right now. They have the ability to provide incentives to the entire population because they are the "top-dogs" and authoritative figures. Tara, I like the plethora of examples you used. I especially liked how you capitalized the synonymous terms. It put a necessary stress on the words that I think works better in conveying the heavy weight they hold on society.
